About our club

The Burnt Toast Toastmasters Club, founded in 2005 with the sponsorship of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia, is part of Toastmasters International, a worldwide, non-profit, educational organization with over 200,000 members in 9200 affiliate clubs operating in approximately 70 countries.

Burnt Toast's current members are professionals that work in various industries. Our Club's mission is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which members have the opportunity to develop and practice communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth. Since its inception Burnt Toast has achieved either Distinguished Club status or Select Distinguished club status every year. Toastmasters International developed the Distinguished Club Plan to measures the success of its clubs. By achieving distinguished club status, a club has demonstrated that it is a well run club that focuses on movingits members through the education program outlined by Toastmasters International. Burnt Toast prides itself on doing this in a fun and light hearted way.

Burnt Toast helps its members learn the arts of speaking, listening, and thinking - vital skills that enhance leadership potential and contribute to the success of those we serve, to our own success, and to the competitiveness of our professions.

Joining the Burnt Toast Toastmasters Club teaches skills which each of us can use in our daily interactions with co-workers, clients and in our personal lives.
